Menu Location: Settings - Video - Select Video Driver
Enables the user to select which video driver to load and run. The program must be in Video Mode, and not in Monitor or Web Mode for this item to be active. The video drivers are presented in a list box, click on the item to highlight it, then click OK. This will load the driver and save the configuration to file, so the next time the program is started that particular video driver will be loaded automatically at program startup.
Each driver is numbered at the left side of the list box, 0,1,2 and so on. This is the video driver number. Video driver errors will only be referred to by the driver number and not the driver name.
There is another way to set the video driver manually by entering the video driver number under Settings, Program Parameters, Use Video Driver =.
To get the number of the current video driver being used, go to menu item Settings, Program Status, Video Driver Name or Video Driver.
Error Message Number: Err:246 Driver does not allow program to change video parameters ... Got to menu item Settings, Video, Video Set By Program, and uncheck Enable Program to Set Video Parameters. Such errors will then be removed at the cost of having the program auto set the video parameters.
WDM Drivers: under this menu item most all WDM drivers have the name of , "Microsoft WDM Capture ..." since windows translates calls from VFW to WDM. Usually the most recent WDM driver loaded will appear with this driver name. It would appear that under Windows VFW and this menu item only one WDM driver can be listed, even though more WDM drivers are loaded on the machine. In order to have a WDM driver accessible from this menu item, one might have to re-install it in order for it to be the most recent WDM installed, and hence be listed in this menu item box. VFW drivers are all listed.
